‘No tickets to criminal candidates’

Ahead of the Assembly polls in Delhi, some Congress MLAs and many MLA aspirants are in trouble as the party’s state unit chief on Monday declared that he will follow Rahul Gandhi’s instruction of zero tolerance against applicants with criminal cases. “We will avoid candidates with criminal background and also we will try not to give ticket to any parachute candidate,” DPCC chief Mr J.P. Aggrwal said.

Sehwag kin, Daler seek party tickets

Around 1,600 candidature forms for the upcoming Assembly elections have been submitted at the Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee office till late Sunday evening. Though the last date for submission of forms was announced for October 6, but it is expected that more forms can be submitted by Monday. During the last Assembly polls, around 2,000 people had sought party tickets.
