Panamagate: JIT starts probe into Sharif family

The team will submit a progress report after every two weeks to the apex court.

Islamabad: A six-member Joint Investigation Team (JIT)  constituted by the Supreme Court initiated the probe into the Panama Papers case at the Federal Judicial Academy on Monday.

The Supreme Court has constituted the six-member JIT to probe Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s family in the Panama Leaks case.

The JIT includes officials from Inter-Services Intelligence, Military Intelligence, State Bank of Pakistan, Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan and National Accountability Bureau. A director-general level FIA officer will head the team.  

The team will submit a progress report after every two weeks to the apex court. It is supposed to complete the probe within two months.
