I was never too ambitious: Gracy Singh

Gracy Singh of Lagaan and Munnabhai MBBS fame is making her comeback on TV with Santoshi Ma where she plays the lead role. The actress, who was previously seen on the small screen with Amanat, states that this show isn’t a ‘comeback’ since she was always busy with her dance shows. She adds that her experience with working on dance helped her immensely. About the show Gracy states, “It is themed around mythology, so the subject is close to my heart. I don’t believe in keeping fasts, but I believe in Maa. It takes two hours to get into the costumes but it isn’t a problem for me since I’m used to dressing up in heavy costumes. I have also been part of Brahmakumari organisation where we preach spiritual messages. Plus, I started my career with TV with Amanat so I was looking to return to TV with a show like this.”

Does she regret that despite having hits like Lagaan and Munnabhai in her kitty, her film career didn’t go great She says, “No, I was never too ambitious. I always wanted to have my dance troupe, which I do now. There is no room for regrets.”
