UC Web — the leading browser on mobile phones in India — has just launched a dedicated news app. UC News aggregates content that might appeal to Indian users by trawling Facebook and Twitter trends.

UC Web — the leading browser on mobile phones in India — has just launched a dedicated news app. UC News aggregates content that might appeal to Indian users by trawling Facebook and Twitter trends. It can be customised for the user’s tastes: during cricket matches, one can set the feeds to cricket news and remove them once the series is over.

The app curates content from over 20 categories including news, cricket, technology, entertainment, movies, lifestyle, health and humour. Currently available in English and Hindi, it will soon be launched in other regional languages.

The basic UC Browser has also been upgraded with UC Cricket and UC Entertainment.

The UC News app is available on GooglePlay and 9Apps.
