NVIDIA has always struggled with capturing the entry level PC gaming market as it has always been Team Red that has offered the best value for money product at that price range. However, that may soon change with the launch of the GT 1030.

The new GT 1030 from NVIDIA will be built on the 14nm process and based on the GP108 graphics processor. It will feature 2 GB of GDDR 5 memory with a core clock of 1227 Mhz and a boost clock of 1468 Mhz. The card will also feature a memory clock of 6006 Mhz. From the looks of things, the GT 1030 is targeted to go head to head with AMD’s 550 and act as the go to card for gamers looking to max games out at 1280 x 720 resolutions or people looking to make a 4K ready home theatre system.

Just like the 550, the GT 1030 has a maximum power draw rated at 35W, meaning that it can run directly off the motherboard. The card will ship with one HDMI and one DVI port. Most importantly, it is a low profile and small form factor card that means that it can easily fit in any cabinet, be it a pre-built HTPC or a LAN box. Pricing details for India haven’t been released yet, however you can expect it to be around the Rs 9,000 to keep it competitive with the 1050s and so on.
