The seasoned Bagri (+30) proved too good for Avenish Shah (+25) of Mandpeshwar Civic Foundation and cruised to a 3-0 (96-30, 98-35, 85-75) victory.

Mumbai: Sankalp Mundhada and Swaroop Pillai, both from Thane ground fought hard for 3-2 victories to march into the third round of the Khar Gymkhana Open Handicap Snooker Tournament 2018.

In second round matches, Mundhada (+50 handicap) worked hard to scrape past Krishna Saraf (+45) of JVPG 3-2 (86-120, 98-91, 93-71, 70-108, 102-91), while Pillai (+45) also played with plenty of determination to overcome Zeeshan Merchant (+50) of Andheri 3-2 (114-109, 60-107, 115-62, 70-110, 104-80) at the Khar Gymkhana Billiards Room.

Meanwhile, three Elphinstone CC players, Aditya Agrawal, Anurag Bagri and Chetan Gangode, also tasted success to progress to the third round.

The left-handed Agrawal (+20) enjoyed a good roll of the balls and with the help of two substantial breaks of 44 and 54 went on to tame Veer Singh Nagi (+45) of JVPG 3-1 (98-67, 86-104, 101(44)-84, 105(54)-64).

Chetan Gangode was the third ECC cueist to come through his second round. In an evenly matched contest Gangode (+50) defeated Gunmeen Kohli (+50) of MIG 3-1 (104-72, 103-92, 93-99, 95-81).
