In what is a bolt from the blue, the fastest man on earth Usain Bolt will make his maiden visit to India on September 2.

The Jamaican sprinter will be in Bengaluru for a day to fulfill commercial obligations for apparel giants Puma.

During his visit the double Olympic champion will team up with India batsman Yuvraj Singh for a game of cricket at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. The face-off between the two brand ambassadors has been titled ‘Bolt and Yuvi — Battle of the Legends’.

“Puma brings Usain Bolt down for a one-of-a-kind cricket face-off between two sporting legends. For the first time ever, watch the fastest man on earth Usain Bolt, challenge Yuvraj Singh to an exclusive cricket showdown at Chinnaswamy Stadium on September 2,” said a media release on Tuesday.

Bolt is a keen follower of cricket and keeps himself updated about the Indian Premier League, with a special affinity towards Royal Challengers Bangalore, especially since fellow Jamaican Chris Gayle is a part of the team.

Bolt has often expressed his desire to test his skills in the IPL. But for now, it is his pace versus Yuvi’s flair.

The kindest thing that can be said of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s indifferent performance in the series of byelections since the general election last May is that they are a pointer to the significant role played by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in ensuring the decisive Lok Sabha outcome.

Disasters not only disrupt society, they also distort its basic categories, creating inversions, disrupting normalcy and suspending time in a prolonged way. Return to normalcy then becomes even more difficult and unpredictable.
