A Polish national, identified as Marian Bokadan Manka (57), was found dead at a hotel in Pune. The incident occurred at the Royal Orchid Hotel at Kalyani Nagar on Sunday afternoon.

“Marian was staying in Royal Orchid, Kalyaninagar. He was working in Land Forth Power Solution Company. He had checked into room number 207 on Saturday night. When he did not open the door of his room, till late Sunday afternoon, the hotel staff sensed something was amiss and entered the room through a back door.

“On entering the room, they found Marian in an unconscious condition. He was immediately moved to Sassoon Hospital where the doctors declared him dead,” said Mukund Mahajan, senior police inspector, Yerwada.

“His body has been kept at Sassoon Hospital for two days within which his relatives from Poland are expected to reach Pune. Otherwise, his body will be cremated here,” said a police official on the condition of anonymity. As of now, no complaint has been lodged and the police has registered it as a case of sudden death.

This was the second time a foreign national was found dead in the city recently. Earlier in 2015, a Chinese national was found dead in a hotel in Vimannagar.
