The Bombay high court on Friday asked the government to get a clarification from the Supreme Court regarding the permissible height of human pyramids during the Dahi Handi festival.

The Bombay high court on Friday asked the government to get a clarification from the Supreme Court regarding the permissible height of human pyramids during the Dahi Handi festival. The HC also expressed displeasure that the state had still not sought the SC's clarification, even though the festival is only a few days away.

The court was hearing a petition filed by social worker Swati Patil, the secretary of Utkarsh Mahila Samajik Sanstha, an NGO. Ms Patil alleged the government and others were not following orders of the HC on the height of human pyramids during Dahi Handi celebrations.

The HC, on August 11, 2014, had ordered the height of human pyramids should not exceed 20 feet.
