The police will file chargesheet in the Pratyusha Banerjee suicide case in the third week of June, said sources. In the interim, police is going through WhatsApp chat records of the deceased actor and her boyfriend Rahul Raj Singh. The police has also asked Yahoo! to provide emails exchanged between Pratyusha and Rahul to investigate the extent of Rahul’s involvement in Pratyusha’s suicide. A senior police official said they are in no hurry to arrest Rahul and are busy gathering evidence to make the case watertight.

Police sources said a few reports have been received from FSL while a few are pending, and technicians at FSL are now trying to recover old WhatsApp chat records of the couple to know the conversation that occurred between them. Police is also waiting for a reply to their letter to Yahoo, asking for emails exchanged between the two. Additionally, officials plan to go through all emails sent by Pratyusha to others to understand her mindset.

As many as 30 statements have been taken in the case, including from Pratyusha’s parents, friends, building workers and maids. Most witnesses have mentioned that Pratyusha was facing mental and physical torture at the hands of Rahul and just a few minutes before her suicide, in a telephonic conversation, she said that Rahul had spoiled her life and separated her from her parents.

Meanwhile, Rahul told The Asian Age he can take legal action against a few television personalities who have tried to defame him apart from spoiling Pratyusha’s name.
