Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini are going to perform during the ‘Make In India’ event beginning from February 13 in the city.

Bollywood actors Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini are going to perform during the ‘Make In India’ event beginning from February 13 in the city. Mumbai will also see installations of laman diva (traditional light), Make In India’s symbol of a lion at various locations.

Girgaum Chowpatty will especially be adopting a Bollywood theme for Maharashtra night and will host the biggest cultural programme of the week. Also in the plans are decorating the road from Worli to Bandra with lights. According to sources, some of highrises in the city will have laser shows and fireworks to welcome the guests. The government is said to have spent Rs 100 crore on the entire event with expectation to bag some good business deals for the country and especially Maharashtra.

Apart from the business deals, Maharashtra Night on February 15 is planned to be a major attraction for the participants.

After the Supreme Court’s nod to hold the cultural evening at Girgaum Chowpatty, the organisers have geared up to make grand arrangements accordingly.

“The event will display a stage on Bollywood theme and Amitabh Bhachchan and Hema Malini will perform for the event. The programme is open for the public and we are expecting 25,000 to 30,000 people to attend it,” an official from the industries department said.

The city will have installation of laman diva, the symbol of Make In Maharashra campaign and lion, the symbol of Make In India campaign.

Beautification of a few roads will be done with plants and flowers. “A road from Worli to Bandra will have special decoration. It will be frequently used by the dignitaries and guests,” the official added.
