Mumbai: The land acquisition for the Mumbai-Nagpur Samruddhi Mahamarg is almost complete, said state officials. The Super Communication Expressway is expected to be ready by the end of 2020.

“In the case of road works, the major concern is always a delay in land acquisition. However, in the case of this project, we have completed almost 95 per cent of land acquisition. There are some stretches left in Amravati, Aurangabad region for land acquisition. But we hope to sort that issue soon,” said a senior state official.

The expressway is expected to cut down the journey between Mumbai and Nagpur to only eight hours. Currently, it takes anywhere between 14 to 15 hours to complete a journey between the two cities.
