Mumbai: Not all is well between Shiv Sena and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), especially with Sena leader Uddhav Thackeray firing salvos against chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and demonetisation. On Saturday, during an event in Mumbai, Mr Thackeray targeted the chief minister, saying that he isn’t going to take orders from the BJP.

Mr Fadnavis, on Saturday in Nagpur, had said, “One thing should be understood that the BJP’s strength has increased. Our emphasis is on clean and transparent functioning. In last few months, corruption charges have been made against the BMC, which need to be clarified.”

The allegations, the Sena has claimed, is an attempt to show the party in a bad light. Sena mouthpiece Saamana has claimed that Mr Thackeray had slammed the CM’s comment and said, “If anyone looks at my Mumbai in a bad light, I will never tolerate it; keep that vision with you. Mr Fadnavis, in Nagpur, had said there would be an alliance with Sena in the BMC only if the BJP’s vision of development is acceptable.

Meanwhile, Mr Thackeray again slammed demonetisation. He said the basic purpose of the Centre’s demonetisation move had been defeated as people were dying in bank queues and terrorist attacks were still taking place. “There are jawans who faced the enemy bullets and served the country. But after retirement, they are unable to get their own money and it is unfortunate that they are dying with their own bullets now. While announcing demonetisation, they (BJP) said it will eliminate the chances of terrorist attacks. But has it happened? Our jawans are dying as before,” he said. Without naming Modi, Uddhav said, “Even if your intention is good, why are you causing agony to people?”
