Kolkata: In her bid to create an impression about her political foresight to the Hindi-speaking votebank ahead of the Lok Sabha Elections chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday predicted that the BJP would be washed away in Rajasthan in the upcoming Assembly Elections in that state. Describing herself as a pure “Hindustani” she observed that the BJP would not fare well in the Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections also.

Addressing a rally of Hindi Bhashi Sammelan in Purulia after charing the administrative review meeting in the Jangalmahal district, the Trinamul Congress supremo said. “People’s business have been destroyed in the name of demonetisation. Unemployment increased only. Small businesses have been shut down. Large scale and medium scale businesses have also faced closure. Lot of people have left the country. Ask anyone in Rajasthan, no one there supports the BJP which is in power at the Centre.”

She claimed, “The BJP will lose totally in Rajasthan. I have heard the BJP is in bad shape in Rajasthan or Madhya Pradesh. All hear they would go out of power. In politics people come and go. But politics is not about selling the country. It is for protecting the nation. Politics is not for leaving people sad. The greatest aim of politics is to win the hearts of the people through love and performance.”

To win the Hindi speaking people’s hearts Ms Banerjee added, “I am a Hindustani. We are Sachcha Hindustani.”

Targeting the BJP she elaborated, “We are not those who promise something but not deliver. We always fulfil our promises. People promise something before elections, come to power and then forget. If my one eye is for West Bengal, my other eye is for Rajasthan, Bihar and other states. Hindustan will march ahead  only if the Hindustanis are united. I do not speak Hindi fluently. I hesitate slightly. Still I speak.” Earlier the CM expressed her wonder about the entry of miscreants to West Bengal from Jharkhand.

Pulling up the cops during the administrative review meeting she ordered the police to build watchtowers and install CCTVs along 110 kms of the state’s border with Jharkhand apart from the vigil along the areas which are dominated by the Maoists. Ms Banerjee informed that the funds would be released by the wester region affairs development board. “The problem is acute in the border areas. The miscreants are entering the state to commit crime. They return after that,” she noted pointing finger at the BJP.

Ms Banerjee mentioned, “The goons of that state are given contracts to kill persons. After committing the crime some people sing a song and dance over it. The border should be sealed, I feel. CCTVs have to be installed and watchtowers are needed to be erected in those areas for better vigil.” Superintendent of police (Purulia) Akash Magharia informed the CM that additional forces were deployed in the area. She however argued that dense forest would pose a challenge to the police personnel.
