Cop suspended for thrashing vendor

According to the police, the complainant is identified as 42-year-old Sandeep Kesari.

New Delhi: A police constable has been placed under suspension after he allegedly thrashed an ice cream vendor along with his three friends in Rohini North in Rohini District.

According to the police, the complainant is identified as 42-year-old Sandeep Kesari. The incident took place on Tuesday night when Sandeep was heading towards Naha-rpur where he resides.

As the vendor was heading home, a police constable, identified as Joginder, allegedly stopped him and asked for ice cream. The accused cop allegedly refused to pay and began hurling abuses at him. When the hawker objected, Joginder allegedly called three of his friends and thrashed Sandeep, said the police.

Sandeep sustained fractures in his legs and hands. However, he was saved in time as a crowd gathered at the spot hearing the commotion. The mob charged to attack the four men after learning about the incident from the vendor. Meanwhile a call was made to the police who rushed to the spot and arrested the three friends of Joginder.

Joginder who is said to be absconding has been suspended. A case under relevant sections of the IPC has been registered.
