Delhi: Elderly rapist lures minor girl with chowmein, Rs 10 note

New Delhi: A 60-year-old vegetable vendor has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor girl after luring her with her favourite Chinese dish and a Rs 10 note in northwest Delhi's Jahangipuri area, police said on Wednesday.

According to police, the accused used to feed the girl her favourite dish of 'chowmein' (Chinese noodles) and then sedated her by giving her a pill. He then sexually assaulted her.

The incident came to light after the victim was found lying unconscious by locals on Monday. They took the girl to her house and informed the police.

The girl told the police that the accused, who lived in her neighbourhood, had sexually assaulted her on multiple occasions.

The accused would take advantage of the minor's poor family background and lure her on the pretext of feeding her good food, police said.

They were trying to ascertain the kind of pills that were fed to the victim, they added.
