Woman stabbed to death by brother in west Delhi

New Delhi: A drug addict stabbed his 59-year-old sister to death in full public view in west Delhi’s Vikaspuri area on Monday following an argument over his drug addiction.

The woman, identified as Ashwani, was taken to Mata Chanan Devi Hospital in Janakpuri on Monday where she was declared brought dead, the police said.

Her mother, who was a witness in the incident, told the police that the woman was allegedly stabbed by her younger brother Latinder (33).  

Latinder is a drug addict, the official said, adding that his sister used to question him about his addiction.  

On Monday, he asked for money to buy drugs which led to an argument. The accused picked up a kitchen knife and stabbed her twice, he added.  

A case was registered and subsequently, he was arrested, the official  said.
