New Dewlhi: The Delhi University, which is all set to begin the registration process for the upcoming academic session from May 22, has brought some changes in the admission to merit-based undergraduate courses. The varsity has also increased 2,000 seats with addition to new courses, making the total number of undergraduate seats to 56,000.

While making the online application form mobile-friendly for those without a computer or a laptop, the varsity has also made the uploading of board marks easier for the candidates.

“When the applicant fills his or her board roll number in the online application form, those marks will automatically be uploaded in form. Also a three-level of information for the candidates registering on the portal has been initiated where they would receive a confirmation of registration through a pop-up screen, email and SMS. The student can even edit the forms till the time of admission so that they are able to update any information,” DU admission committee head M.K. Pandit said while addressing a press conference on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the varsity has also decided to conduct both offline and online entrance exam for eight UG courses, all postgraduate and M.Phil/PhD courses only at Delhi-NCR centres. The move comes following the opposition from DU students’ union and ABVP against the online entrance test as they feel it would hamper the prospects of rural students. However, the rest of the 18 centres will hold online test only.
