When will this end

This is with reference to your editorial, Make spending on sports accountable (August 23). India’s Rio story also ended with just two medals secured by two young girls by their own efforts and in spite of an uncaring, inefficient and corrupt system. Both the people and the system are responsible for such a dismal state of our sports. There is not only a need to make spending on sports accountable, but also the spending by the authorities. What business did the Union and Haryana sports ministers and the battalion of officers have in going to Rio at public expense
