The sacking of Cyrus Mistry will go down in the annals of the corporate world as the most unpleasant and sordid incident. This is, perhaps, the first time that Ratan Tata’s name is slurred by none other than his protégé who allegedly accused him of constant interference and wrongdoings at some operational levels. The ongoing battle between the two honchos could have been settled within the four walls, persuading Mr Mistry to resign. The incident need not have come out in the public domain.
