Odd-Even 2.0

It is good to hear that the Delhi government will implement the odd-even vehicle restrictions again from April 15. In its previous avatar, the scheme showed that Delhiities were ready to do their bit. But the idea of implementing it every month, while exempting two-wheelers, will be counterproductive. It will prompt commuters to eventually buy two-wheelers. Any rule that becomes permanent becomes open to tampering or being bypassed altogether. The Delhi government should guard against this mistake.
