Amid controversies over making yoga compulsory in schools and minorities’ reservations about chanting “Om” or doing Surya Namaskar, the celebration of World Yoga Day on June 21, with active participation by the Prime Minister himself, is a big encouragement to this discipline which is a part of our ancient meditative science. Now practised the world over by different enthusiasts, yoga is a symbol of unity. Let’s not chip away at its significance over peculiarities. Yoga is for everyone.
