Your editorial It’s good for India that CJI didn’t bend (April 26) rightly points out that the reason for the skewed ratio of judges to the number of cases is the government’s inert nature in appointing the judges. The judiciary is always held responsible for the huge delays in courts while “the government is sitting over 170 appointments recommended by the judges collegium”. It is time the government resolves this issue and appoints new judges to help speedy delivery of justice.
