New Delhi:

External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj is once again in the news for the right reasons. According to a report, Swaraj recently helped a young girl have a happy Father's Day after responding to her distress call on Twitter.

The girl, Rukmini Shankar, who had just graduated from Class 10, had appealed to Sushma Swaraj after her father was jailed in Saudi Arabia following an accident.

According to a Facebook post shared by a family friend, Rukmini's father Shankarkumarsingh Jha ran into trouble in Saudi Arabia after "an accident which resulted into the death of a person there".

The University of Hail had hired Jha as an assistant professor of finance and his daughter had accompanied him to Saudi Arabia for her summer vacations.

After this, Rukmini reached out to the Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia, and to Sushma Swaraj on June 18.

After several retweets from users, the External Affairs Minister replied:

A day later Rukmini shared the news of her father's release.

Swaraj also seemed elated at the news.
