Outrage as Bengaluru mob ‘strips’ African girl

India conveyed its “deep pain” and “regret” to Tanzania after a Tanzanian woman student was allegedly beaten up and stripped by a Bengaluru mob Sunday night. Several African countries are outraged. External affairs minister Sushma Swaraj called Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah to ensure the guilty were punished. Four people have reportedly been arrested.

The 21-year-old Tanzanian was dragged out of a car and stripped by a mob on reaching the accident spot, soon after a woman was run over by a car driven by another African. The police had allegedly refused to register her complaint on Sunday.
