The BJP national leadership has entrusted Union ministers J.P. Nadda and Rajiv Pratap Rudy to camp in the state to manage the party’s campaigning in districts. Top leaders, including party president Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, are expected to come only by early May.

Union health minister Nadda has been coming on and off to the state and this time he was asked by the PM himself to coordinate the relief works for the Puttingal temple blaze victims.

Party sources told this newspaper that on Tuesday evening he returned to Delhi after flagging off 70 video vans, which are propaganda vehicles, criticising six decades of LDF and UDF rule and highlighting the achievements of the Modi government.
