Patna: A day after confirming casualties in the bus fire incident, Bihar disaster management minister backtracked by saying that “no one died in the accident”.

The gruesome incident had occurred on Thursday when the bus from Muzaffarpur in Bihar to New Delhi fell into a pit on the national highway near Motihari and caught fire.

State Disaster management minister Dinesh Chandra Yadav, while talking to reporters on Thursday, had confirmed that the casualty was 27 but after FSL and NDRF team visited the accident site and conducted a thorough investigation on Friday, he clarified, “My statement on death toll was based on information from local sources but probe report says that no dead body was found from the wreckage”.

The news of accident and statements about casualties had resulted in Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar appealing for a two- minute silence during a event which he was attending.
