Dhanush to make his Hollywood debut in a film opposite Uma Thurman

The film ‘The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir Who Got Trapped In An Ikea Cupboard’ will be directed by Marjane Satrapi.

: After Deepika Padukone bagged her first Hollywood project, Tamil star Dhanush has landed himself a massive project too. Dhanush is all set to make his Hollywood debut with Thurman and Alexandra Daddario in a film that will be directed by Iranian-French filmmaker Marjane Satrapi.

According to reports, Dhanush will be playing the role of a conjurer in the film title ‘The Extraordinary Journey Of The Fakir Who Got Trapped in an Ikea Cupboard’. It is based on a French best-seller book by the same name, written by Romain Puértolas.

The director, who watched several Indian movies before narrowing down on Dhanush was floored by his intelligence and his ability to fully enter the character he played. The shooting locations will include India, Paris, Morocco and Italy.

Dhanush, co-starred with Amitabh Bachchan in last year’s ‘Shamitabh’ and also won his first National Award in 2010 for his role in the film ‘Aadukalam’.

The actor was last seen in Tamil movie 'Maari'. He is also awaiting the release of 'Rail', 'Kodi', and 'Vada Chennai'.
