Anirban Lahiri pulled himself out of the danger zone with a superb second round of six-under 66 that hauled him up from tied 113th to inside the top-30 at the halfway mark of the $750,000 BNI Indonesian Masters in Jakarta on Friday.

Lahiri is now three-under for 36 holes after being three-over for 18.

Gaganjeet Bhullar, the overnight co-leader and a former Asian Games team mate of Lahiri, dropped to tied 14th as he double-bogeyed the final hole in near darkness.

Marcus Fraser of Australia birdied the closing two holes to share the second round clubhouse lead with countryman Kalem Richardson.

Fraser finished in the morning session with seven birdies against two bogeys for a five-under 67 to tie at the top alongside Richardson (68) on eight-under 136 at the Royale Jakarta Golf Club.

Lahiri’s presence in Jakarta also galvanised his young Bengaluru colleague, S. Chikkrangappa, who hit a five-under 67 to move seven-under and tied fourth place.

Five of six Indians make cut in Korea On a day when the sun shone occasionally, five of six Indian golfers made the halfway cut at the Asia-Pacific Amateur Championships at the Jack Nicklaus Golf Club.

Priyanshu Singh (79-76) was the lone one to miss the cut, which fell at nine-over.

Australian room mates Brett Coletta (67-67) and last year’s runner-up Cameron Davis (65-70) occupied the top two spots at 10-under and nine-under.
