Rakesh Roshan diagnosed with throat cancer
Rakesh Roshan’s daughter Sunaina Roshan was diagnosed with cervical cancer a few years ago but emerged a survivor.
Superstar Hrithik Roshan took to social media to share news about his father, Rakesh Roshan’s health. The actor-director was diagnosed with squamous cell carcinoma of the throat (throat cancer) a few weeks ago and will undergo surgery on Tuesday.
Rakesh Roshan, who has directed films like Krrish, Koi Mil Gaya and Kaho Na Pyaar Hai has taken the news positively and is putting up a brave fight.
Hrithik Roshan shared on Instagram, “Asked my dad for a picture this morning. Knew he wouldn't miss gym on surgery day. He is probably the strongest man I know. Got diagnosed with early-stage squamous cell carcinoma of the throat a few weeks ago, but he is in full spirits today as he proceeds to battle it. As a family, we are fortunate and blessed to have a leader like him.”

The 69-year-old filmmaker started his career as an actor in the 1970 film Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani and followed it up with films like Buniyaad, Khoobsurat, Kaamchor and Bhagwan Dada among others.
