Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar are said to have had a sense of competitiveness while filming the film.

Don’t let the amicable photos and videos of the two reigning superstars of the upcoming 2.0 fool you. The South-Indian stalwart Rajinikanth and Bollywood action-hero Akshay Kumar may not be as close as their marketing team would like us to believe.

According to a source close to the project, “Akshay sir was very respectful of Rajini sir throughout the duration of the shooting. But there was always a sense of competitiveness. Whenever Rajini sir’s role was highlighted and played up beyond what was in the script, Akshay sir very gently steered the plot back on the track.” The source also claims that there was an attempt to swing the film’s climax away from Akshay, but the attempt was effectively thwarted.

Moreover there were also disagreements regarding the addition of embellishment ‘Superstar’ to Rajinikanth’s name in the credit titles, as Akshay’s name didn’t carry any. However, as our source divulges, Akshay gracefully let ‘Superstar’ be prefixed Rajinikanth’s name.
