In an interesting twist to the ongoing investigations into the mysterious death of constable Subhash Tomar, the Delhi police has decided not to press murder charges against all the eight protesters, who were earlier arrested in connection with the death. A senior police official involved with the probe said only one or two out of the eight accused will be booked for murder, while rest will be charged under other sections of IPC. “We will face huge difficulties in making the chargesheet of the case,” the official admitted. The police has also failed to identify the exact location of the crime scene where the deceased constable fell unconscious before dying at RML Hospital. The police, as of now, even has no clue about the video-footage in which constable is seen lying unconscious with two protesters, Yogendera Tomar and Pauline, and three policemen. “We are also trying to identify the other cops who were seen in the pictures along with Subhash Tomar. The three cops have not approached the police so far but we will take their statement,” said the police official. The police will now examine the footage of CCTV cameras, installed in the New Delhi district area, and will try to identify the precise location of eight persons held for constable death. The police is also looking for more eyewitnesses. The police is also trying to ascertain what treatment was given to the constable. “Ram Manohar Lohia Hosopital MS T.S. Sidhu had claimed that Tomar had no injury while the his post-mortem report revealed that he had external injuries, his bones were broken. We have taken the treatment documents from the hospital to ascertain what medicine and treatment he was provided with to take action against doctors,” said the source.
