Two businessmen brothers and their friend were beaten up with cricket bat and the Audi car they were driving was damaged by three youth including a movie actor in Anand Vihar area in east Delhi on Monday night.

Complainant Tarun Tyagi (28), a resident of Manak Vihar in Anand Vihar was returning along with his brother Anuj Tyagi after partying with their friends Aditya Mehrotra and Shashank in Green Vihar, in the wee hours of Monday.

As they reached near gate number 2 of Ram Vihar, Tarun stopped his car and waited for Aditya and Shashank who were coming in another car. Meanwhile, another car arrived and honked indicating Tarun to move his car. A youth, allegedly Sunny Anand, came out of his car and argued with Tarun.

During the exchange of heated words, Sunny’s brother Abhishek and Tarun’s brother Anuj also joined them. Some more youth arrived, including complainant’s friend Aditya. The trio — Tarun, Anuj, and Aditya — were allegedly thrashed by the rival group of youth with cricket bat and their car was also damaged by them.

A case has been registered for attempt to commit culpable homicide and voluntarily causing hurt and other provision of IPC at Anand Vihar police station and the accused, Sunny, has been arrested, said a senior police officer.

“We are looking for the other accused to arrest including Sunny’s brother Abhishek and another youth. Raids are being conducted but they are absconding,” he said.

Abhishek is an actor and he had played the lead role in a 2012 movie named Chakradhaar, he added.
