900 registered placement agencies don’t follow rules

Out of the 5,000 placement agencies operating in the city, more than 4,000 have not been registered. As per the Bachpan Bachao Andolan’s reports, there are only 900 agencies that have been registered to supply maid and servants in the capital.

While there are 900 registered placement agencies in the capital, the NGO says that they seldom follow the norms and guidelines. “Only around 900 placement agencies have been registered. But they are also operating unlawfully as they are not transparent about the data. As per protocol, every agency should put online all the details of placement for verification, but that is not being done,” heads of the victims’ assistance wing of the NGO said.
