New Delhi: According to the latest TV reports, the Supreme Court of India has extended the hearing on the case filed by Cricket Association of Bihar against the candidature of BCCI President N Srinivasan to Tuesday. The apex court has proposed new names for a fresh probe panel to investigate the IPL spot fixing scandal that will be headed by Justice Mudgal. The court has given a day to both the parties of the case to decide on names for a new probe panel. This development means that BCCI President N Srinivasan can't take charge of the board till the case is going on in the court. Earlier, the Supreme Court was suppose to decide on Monday the fate of N Srinivasan, the BCCI chief, on the plea filed against his candidature by Cricket Association of Bihar secretary Aditya Verma. Earlier last week, the apex court has postponed the hearing to October 7, saying there was "something seriously wrong" with the body that controls the sport in the cricket-crazy nation.Earlier, the 68-year-old cement tycoon, widely regarded as the most powerful man in world cricket, had been elected unopposed as the head of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for a third year. But the court barred Srinivasan from taking charge until it had ruled on a petition against him over a spot-fixing scandal in the Indian Premier League (IPL), a popular Twenty20 tournament run by the board."The fact that so many things are coming out of the IPL and BCCI, something is seriously wrong with the apex body controlling cricket," the court said during Monday's hearing. "Why has the BCCI lost its credibility The only thing to be seen is how Srinivasan being the president will affect the IPL probe." The court had fixed October 7 as the next date of the hearing. In the latest developments of the last week, Chennai Super Kings player Michael Hussey revealed in his book that Srinivasan gave control of the team to his son-in-law Gurunath Meiyappan. NS had earlier dismissed Gurunath just as a "cricket enthusiast".
