Shreyas Iyer (Daredevils)

Matches: 6 Runs: 30 Coming from an eventful Ranji season where he scored more than 1,000 runs for Mumbai, the young Iyer’s failure at the top was a big disappointment.

Aditya Tare (SRH) Matches: 3 Runs: 8 He led Mumbai to the Ranji title last year. But his season with the Sunrisers was a letdown. In three matches, he managed just eight runs.

Mandeep Singh (RCB) Matches: 1 Runs: - Though the selectors have recognised his talent by naming him in the Indian team for the upcoming Zimbabwe tour, he remained a constant in the RCB dugout.

Kedar Jadhav (RCB) Matches: 4 Runs: 42 K.L. Rahul’s gain proved to be Jadhav’s loss. Jadhav donned the gloves in the initial phase, but lost his place to a rejuvenated Rahul, who looked sublime throughout RCB’s stupendous season.

Corey Anderson (MI) Matches: 0 The Kiwi all-rounder would have been a fixture in any other playing eleven, but Mumbai Indians were spoilt for choice when it came to choosing four overseas players.

Irfan Pathan (RPS) Matches: 4 Wkts: 0 Runs: 11 In the 2015 season, he was a part of the CSK squad, but did not get a chance to take the field. And it’s only pity that the Baroda player couldn’t break into the XI on a consistent basis with the Supergiants.

Rishi Dhawan (Kings XI) Matches: 2 Wkts: 2 Runs: 14 With a funky hairdo, Dhawan sported a fresh look and he looked confident after earning his India cap Down Under. But he got only a little opportunity to express himself. He is however picked up for the Zimbabwe tour.

Albie Morkel (RPS) Matches: 2 Wkts: 2 Runs: 16 Plagued with injuries, Pune had an experienced all-rounder in Morkel, but skipper M.S. Dhoni preferred Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perera over the southpaw.

Shardul Thakur (Kings XI) Matches: 0 The Mumbai pacer took to Twitter to express his disappointment after he was released by Kings XI, but hard work seldom goes unnoticed. He’s been named in the Test team.

Dale Steyn (Lions) Matches: 1 Wkts: 0 He was on the sidelines during the World T20 and IPL wasn’t no different. He was overlooked as Gujarat were busy weighing in on their all-rounders.

Trent Boult (SRH) Matches: 1 Wkts: 1 The fact that Sunrisers had an array of lethal fast bowlers in their squad didn’t help Boult’s cause.
