BMW introduces 520i - new petrol model of 5-series in India. The new BMW 520i is available at all BMW dealerships as a CBU (Completely Built Unit). Its priced Rs54,00,000(ex-showroom, New Delhi). Currently, the two diesel engine powered BMW 5-Series’ 520d and 530d, are manufactured locally at the company’s Chennai facility The new BMW 520i has been introduced in an exclusive ‘Luxury Line’ design scheme that embodies the ultimate in elegance and aesthetics. BMW 520i is powered by a 4-cylinder, 1997cc engine which produces an output of 135 kW / 184 hp and a maximum torque of 270 Nm at 1,250 – 4,500 rpm. The twin power, turbocharged engine is mated with an eight-speed steptronic automatic transmission. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / hr in 7.9 seconds to a top speed of 233 km / hr. With BMW Efficient Dynamics, the BMW 520i is equipped with the most comprehensive technology packages to reduce fuel consumption and increase driving dynamics – such as Intelligent Lightweight Construction, Auto Start-Stop, ECO PRO mode, Brake-Energy Regeneration, 50:50 Weight Distribution and many other innovative technologies.
