Ranveer Singh and Shahid Kapoor roped in for Ram Lakhan remake

The film directed by Rohit Shetty is likely to go on floors by the end of the year once the casting is in place.

Ever since a remake of the Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor starrer Ram Lakhan has been announced, there have been speculations about the cast of the film.

Several names like Varun Dhawan, Arjun Kapoor and Ranveer Singh were brought up for Lakhan’s role, whereas Ranbir Kapoor, Hrithik Roshan and Sidharth Malhotra were front-runners for Ram’s part. But if reports are to be believed, Shahid will be seen as Ram, while Ranveer will be seen as Lakhan in the remake of Subhash Ghai's cult revenge drama.

Also, last year Anil Kapoor, who played Lakhan, had said that Ranveer was perfect for the role. As for Ram’s character, makers believe that Shahid is the perfect fit. However, the two are yet to sign the dotted line.

Meanwhile, Ranveer is currently shooting for Aditya Chopra’s ‘Befikre’ opposite Vaani Kapoor. On the other hand, Shahid is gearing up for the release of ‘Udta Punjab’ starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt. He will also be seen in ‘Rangoon’ with Saif Ali Khan and Kangana Ranaut.
