Why did you choose Scandal as your debut I never wanted to run around the trees. I wanted to break the norms, so I said yes to Scandal.
Did you ever think you would end being an actor I am from a family that’s into film distribution so the conversations at home were always about films. However, I was pretty good at academics, especially math and so I never gave it a thought. I have done about 50 television commercials, but it was only when I acted in my first international film, Swen that I decided to become an actor.
Can you tell us about your role in the Scandal It is based on a real life incident. It’s about a 9-year-old girl who dies in a family and sometime later her father starts seeing her and believes that she is alive. I am playing the father’s niece’s boyfriend Vidhur. He is very self-centred and he is a filmmaking student.
So do you consult your uncle Harry Baweja or cousin Harman Baweja I guess we are mature enough to take our own decisions. I feel different opinions only end up confusing you. I’ve done everything on my own so far, be it TVCs or films. They never helped me and I chose not to reach out to them too.
What are your next projects post Scandal I am starring in an international film titled Cásate conmigo, which will start around August.
As a debutant, do you feel nervous about taking a plunge into the industry Of course I am nervous. Or at least I was initially. But now that I’ve seen the final draft I am feeling a sense of satisfaction. I don’t know about the commercial outcome of the film, but I am sure that people will like the film. The film’s director Ishaan Trivedi has done an amazing job with the film. Aslo, the marketing of the film is in full-swing, so there’s no turning back.
