In a horrific crime, a father, along with three other men and a minor, allegedly gangraped his minor daughter in Brahmanwada village of Niphad tehsil on December 22. The case came to light recently, when video clips of the horrifying incident started circulating on the messaging application WhatsApp on Wednesday. Saikheda police station sources said that as the rape survivor was suffering from jaundice, her father took her to a Baba in Karanji village for treatment on December 22. While returning home they came to a drain in the village, where the father said they would go to a nearby temple to worship. However, on the way to the temple, the father began quarrelling with the daughter, stating that she had “dishonoured” the family. During the quarrel, the father tore the clothes of his daughter and raped her. When the minor began screaming, three men and a minor rushed to the spot. However, the three men and the minor, also gangraped the girl, when she told them about her plight, the police said.
