Mumbai: Ryan International School’s CEO Ryan Pinto and his parents Augustine and Grace Pinto, who are the school’s founders, approached the Bombay High Court on Monday seeking transit anticipatory bail in connection with the murder of a seven-year-old boy in the institution’s premises in Gurgaon. The bail applications were filed following the arrest of two top officials of the Ryan International School in Haryana. In light of the urgency, the application will be heard on Tuesday by the Bombay high court.

According to the petition, Augustine and Grace Pinto who are chairman and managing director respectively of the St Xaviers Education Trust which runs the Ryan International Schools in the city and other parts of the country sought transit bail as they feared that they might be arrested even before they could reach Haryana where they can formally seek anticipatory bail.

The bail application was filed by advocate Nitin Pradhan on behalf of the Pinto’s on Monday wherein they claimed in the petition that they came to know about the brutal incident at the Gurgaon school through a newspaper link on the internet on September 10.

The petition further states that as they can be protected from arrest only by a Haryana court and they feared that their liberties are at peril and could face coercive action by the Haryana police. Hence they have approached the Bombay high court for protection from arrest until they are able to approach an appropriate judicial authority in Haryana in order to seek anticipatory bail.
