BJP worker shot by TMC goons

Kolkata: A BJP worker was shot dead by a gang of miscreants allegedly backed by the Trinamul Congress in North Dinajpur. 

The incident took place at Kachakoli in Chopra on Saturday. The victim, Bijoy Singha, took part in a rally by the BJP at Majhiali gram panchayat area in the afternoon. When the rally reached Chandgachha area, its members came under attack of as some people opened fire. Bijoy suffered bullet injuries and he died at the spot. 

The body was sent for post-mortem. Some of the BJP workers were injured. They have been admitted at Islampur Sub Division Hospital. A large contingent of police force was later rushed to the spot and it brought the situation under control. Local Trinamul Congress MLA Hamidur Rahman however brushed aside the BJP's allegation. 

He alleged, “The Trinamul was not involved in the attack.” He added, “It was the BJP which attacked our meeting.”
