Admitting that she may have made mistakes, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday urged the people to not stop giving the Trinamul Congress their blessings otherwise she would find it difficult to continue. “All faults and mistakes are mine. If you have misgivings about me then you get angry. But for God’s sake, do not deprive the Trinamul Congress of your ashirwaad and dua (blessings). Otherwise it will become very difficult for me to move ahead,” she added. Ms Banerjee was addressing an election rally in Kulti in Asansol area.

Last month in Purulia’s Kashipur, addressing another rally, Ms Banerjee had similarly exhorted the people not to abandon the Trinamul Congress even if they had any complaints about her party men. Incidents like Narada sting video exposure, Girish Park flyover crash and now the admission on camera by mayor of Bidhannagar and TMC candidate in Rajarhat New Town Assembly seat Sabyasachi Dutta that if there was an attemp to crack down on the illegal construction syndicate then Mamata government would fall have come as major setbacks to the ruling Trinamul Congress.

Initially, Ms Banerjee tried to put up a brave front, branding all incidents as conspiracies.
