: Expression hopes of transcending the ‘nightmares’ that they are going through, a touching note written by former media baron Peter Mukerjea to his wife and co-accused in Sheena Bora murder case, Indrani Mukerjea, has come to the fore.

According to media reports, Peter wrote a special note to his wife on January 3 wishing her birthday.

"Mumu, my dearest. Today is a special day in your life and mine too therefore. Your birthday is a day we have always spent together since we met and this is the first year we're so close and yet so far," Peter wrote.

Referring to the judicial proceedings against them, Peter (59), lodged in Arthur Road jail, hoped that she could prove her innocence in the case soon, 'and get clear of this nightmare in good time.'

"God is great and will see an end to this, and like Romeo & Juliet we will hopefully see each other soon — in court or at home one day,” he said in the one page letter.

Hoping that the letter brightens her day, Peter also wrote “This is a short note just for today as a real birthday special to touch you and reach out to you on your day and a big hug and moooah to you," he added, before signing off with, "Yours, P xxx".

Indrani and Peter hardly interact with each other in court, and have been avoiding each other since the trial began six months ago. But recently the two reportedly caught up on their daughter Vidhie over gulab jamun from Peter’s household, away from media glare, and spent a solid twenty five minutes talking in the court premises.

The letter comes after Mukerjea, in his second bail application to the court, alleged that his wife was ‘highly ambitious and willing to sacrifice and give up her children to achieve her ambitions.”

The hearing is underway on a second bail plea submitted by Peter in March.

The former media honcho was arrested on November 19 last year for his alleged role in the murder conspiracy.

Mukerjea's wife Indrani, lodged in the Byculla Ladies Prison, is the prime accused in the 2012 murder of her daughter, Sheena (24) from previous relationship, along with her ex-husband Sanjeev Khanna and driver Shyamvar Rai.

Sheena was allegedly strangled in a car in April 2012 in Mumbai and her body was later burnt and dumped in a forest in adjoining Raigad district. In its charge sheet filed against Indrani, Khanna and Rai, the CBI had said that the murder could be a fallout of certain financial transactions involving Sheena.
