: With an eye on the Uttar Pradesh polls, BJP President Amit Shah on Saturday lashed out at the Congress, the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), in a speech at Kakori on the outskirts of Lucknow.

Amit Shah’s visit to Kakori was part of a nationwide event by the BJP called ‘Azadi 70 - Yaad Karo Kurbani’, a precursor to the party's much hyped ‘Tiranga Yatra’ that will begin from August 16.

At a public meeting after the event, Amit Shah began his speech by saying he ‘would not talk politics’ but then proceeded to attack SP, BSP and Congress.

“If SP or BSP come to power in UP, they will work only for a particular community and themselves; BJP alone believes in "sab ka saath, sabka vikas," Shah said to a 5,000 strong crowd.

Taking a dig at the Congress, he claimed, "No development in country since Independence, as government was run by one family for 60 years. Without development of UP, country's development not possible."

In Kakori, Amit Shah visited the memorial for freedom fighters and garlanded the statues of Chandrashekhar Azad, Ashfaqullah Khan and Ram Prasad Bismil. Kakori is famous for revolutionaries robbing a train carrying money for the British treasury in 1925.

Later, Shah also had lunch at the home of BJP MP Kaushal Kishore, who is a Dalit.
