New Delhi: No significant technical issues have been encountered in Boeing 737 Max 8 aircraft operated by Indian carriers Jet Airways and SpiceJet, said sources in Indian aviation regulator the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Tuesday in the wake of the Lion Air B-737 Max 8 aircraft crash in Indonesia on Monday that killed 189 people.

US aircraft manufacturer Boeing has also ‘communicated to its world-wide operators including Jet Airways and Spicejet that they do not recommend its operators any action at this time’.

On Tuesday, DGCA sources said, “DGCA has reviewed performance of B737Max 8 aircraft with Jet Airways and Spicejet today. As on date, six B737Max 8 aircraft in India have accumulated about 4000 hours since their induction effective June 2018 onwards. There are no significant technical issues encountered on these aircraft.”
