People keen on self-publishing and interested in learning what e-books are all about are in for a treat at the Delhi World Book Fair 2016. At Hall No. 6, stalls 15-18, notionpress.com has two desks dedicated to informing people how they can get their books published in paperback, and even in e-book form. According to Naveen Valsakumar, co-founder, notionpress.com, they have already amassed 335 manuscripts from potential writers at WBF 2016.

Based in Chennai, the company has received a positive response from people as they find merit in notionpress.com’s assurance of 100 per cent profit for the author on his/her investment in publishing their manuscripts in book form.

“We charge fees for printing, publicity, cover design, etc. If we see merit in a title we invest in the book and share profits with the author. For those who want to publish their e-book we offer the service for free,” says Valsakumar.

With tie-ups for publishing in 97 countries, notionpress.com provides a formidable platform for those who have a story to tell.

Amazon Kindle also made its presence felt at Hall No. 6 with a twin stall which generated mass interest. “While we haven’t sold many units, we have managed to pique the curiosity of those in the 30-35 age bracket. We are also targeting children as potential customers,” said the stall in-charge. With lump sum cash discounts, this is the go-to place for people who can’t wait for a Kindle to get delivered to their doorstep.

The Matrubhumi app stall at Hall No. 11 invites potential writers to churn out 1,000-word write-ups in any form (but the journalistic). In return, people get paid for the content uploaded on the app in real time. Open to writers in Hindi, English, Gujarati and Marathi, Matrubhumi also boasts a sizeable collection of Hindi titles for readers. Hindi publishing giant Rajkamal Prakashan has already climbed onto the e-books bandwagon, having launched an app at the previous World Book Fair.
