Lashing out at the Aam Aadmi Party government, the BJP on Saturday stated that passing of Janlokpal Bill and announcement of plying cars according to even and odd numbers are an attempt by the Kejriwal government to mislead the judiciary and divert the attention of the people of Delhi from its failure to control pollution and the acrimony of the people on four-fold hike in the pay of allowances of MLAs and ministers.

The saffron party further went to suggest the chief minister Arvind Kejriwal to review MLA salary hike to make it at par with average middle-class income and take policy decisions on anti-pollution measures after a thorough study.

Delhi BJP chief Satish Upadhyay said that the party does not consider this hike as justified. “The party is of the view that the pay of public representatives should be at par with the income of middle-class people,” he said.

Similarly, the people fail to understand the Assembly allowance of Rs 50,000 per month and meeting allowance of Rs 2,000 to the MLAs of Delhi. “For the first time in the country, any government has taken the decision to grant Rs 25,000 per month for rent towards office accommodation. The BJP is of the view that when public representatives are getting these facilities, then why there is a provision for rent,” said the Delhi BJP chief.
