In the midst worst of the worst outbreak of dengue in national capital, total number of mosquito-borne fever cases have crossed 15,000 marks this year.

In the midst worst of the worst outbreak of dengue in national capital, total number of mosquito-borne fever cases have crossed 15,000 marks this year. With over 365 fresh cases last week, the figure for the total number of cases stand at 15,254. However, no patients have died from dengue in November.

The civic administration has meanwhile updated its official death toll at 38 from earlier 32, according to the report on the vector-borne disease released on Monday by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), which compiles it on behalf of all civic bodies. Unofficially, however, the number of dengue victims stands at 44.

The six new victims identified by the civic authorities include 10-year-old Anita of Harkesh Nagar to 60-year-old Hasina from Jahangirpuri area in north Delhi. One male patient, aged 32, was also among the six victims.

Out of the total cases, south Delhi recorded the highest at 3,110, north Delhi at 2,877 while east Delhi posted the lowest with 1,700 cases. Of all civic zones, Najafgarh Zone of SDMC has recorded the highest number with 961 cases.
