22-year-old ends life while on video chat

A 22-year-old CA aspirant allegedly committed suicide at his rented accommodation in the Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad on Monday while his girlfriend watched the whole incident on video chat.

The deceased, Rishabh Rai, a native of Buxar district in Bihar, was found hanging from the ceiling fan, while his mobile phone was fixed on the study table of his room. He had come to the city around eight months ago for CA studies. The cops suspect failure in studies to be one of the reasons for the suicide.

The police was alerted about the suicide when they received a call from one of deceased’s flatmate on Monday morning.

“A PCR reached the spot and the room was unloc-ked. The police brought down the body and took it to a hospital where the doctors declared him brought dead. The body was sent for a post-mortem,” said a police official.

“The case is under investigation. The family members of the deceased have also reached the city. The body was handed over to them after the medical examination,” the police said.
